Springtime in the garden of good and not so good (stupid snails!)… parareka/potatoes have sprung up, first strawberries are ripening and the broccoli is hardening up.

As part of the Matariki celebration, Whanau from Te Puna Reo o Puhi Kaiti harvested Broccoli, Celery and Carrots from the Titirangi Community Garden and shared them with whanau around the neighbourhood.

So, Geoff came and generously cultivated the unplanted 70% of the section and last weekend we sowed 40kg of wild oats (bought from Farmlands for $50) and 3kg of Blue Lupins ($10/kg). Raked them under and now it’s raining which is great.
