Titirangi Community Garden

Springtime in the garden of good and not so good (stupid snails!)… parareka/potatoes have sprung up, first strawberries are ripening and the broccoli is hardening up.

As part of the Matariki celebration, Whanau from Te Puna Reo o Puhi Kaiti harvested Broccoli, Celery and Carrots from the Titirangi Community Garden and shared them with whanau around the neighbourhood.

Directions for anyone wanting to check out the Titirangi Community Garden – if the marae gate is closed come around to 21 Cambridge Tce and you can get to the mara through our backyard.

So, Geoff came and generously cultivated the unplanted 70% of the section and last weekend we sowed 40kg of wild oats (bought from Farmlands for $50) and 3kg of Blue Lupins ($10/kg). Raked them under and now it’s raining which is great.
